Musically was just acquired for up to $1 billion (!!). The company has only been around for 3 years and has taken off with the teens and tweens, who use the app to make short lip-syncing videos.
The acquirer is Bytedance, maker of the popular Chinese news app Toutiao, which acquired Flipagram earlier this year, and recently raised money at a $20 billion valuation.

Republic, a funding portal founded by AngelList alumni, announced Republic Crypto, a new line of products designed to bring much-needed accessibility and inclusivity to the blockchain space.
Republic’s platform, in partnership with CoinList, will enable crypto startups to raise money from investors of all income brackets, opening up compliant token sales to everyone – beyond just the 1%.
